S.I.D.E strategy is to integrate the interests of corporate foundations committed to sustainable development, with relevant NGO's and Universities to assure that their financing of projects is truly beneficial to local communities and to the environment.
TheMadrean Archipelago Biodiversity Assessment,a three year census of flora and fauna on several of the Sky Island Mountains in the four States of Arizona and New Mexico in the U.S. and Sonora and Chihuahua in Mexico. Financed largely by the Veolia Environment Foundation.
TARA Oceans Expedition, a 3 year, marine based, scientific expedition in partnership with the Veolia Environment Foundation, the French Government, and private agencies. It studied the effects of climate change on plankton and coral reefs.
The Global Alliance Against Cholera (G.A.A.C) Identifying new sources of medicinal plants for alternative health practices - Converting coastal seaweed pollution into commercially viable products - Assisting in the establishment of biodiversity demonstration projects focused on endangered tropical plants and trees - Contributing to economic development of indigenous communities.
